Lillian C. Bonin, age 94, a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers,
died early Friday, April 24, 2009, at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Lillian was born Dec. 27, 1914, in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Otto and
Lillian (Rehbein) Bruns. She attended schools in Manitowoc, and was graduate
of Lincoln High School. Lillian was first married to Clarence Peltier, who
preceded her in death in 1949. She then married Larry Bonin in 1951, and he
also preceded her in death in 1977. She and her husband, Clarence, owned and
operated Red & Lil's Bar in Two Rivers for many years. She also bartended for
several establishments in Two Rivers, and was better known as "Tilly" or
"Diamond Lil." Lil was also a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary of Two Rivers.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; one son and daughter-in-law;
five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren (private). She is further
survived by a sister-in-law (private), other relatives and friends. In addition
to her two husbands, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Otto Buns, and
a sister, Martha Jarosh.
The family will greet relatives and friends for a memorial visitation from 9 to
11 a.m. on Monday, April 27, at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506-18th St.,
Two Rivers. A private burial of her cremated remains will take place at Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc on Tuesday, April 28.
The Bonin family would like to extend a specail thank you to Dr. Thayer, Aurora
VNA Hospice, and all the caregivers at Harmony of Two Rivers, and the Hamilton
Care Center for the wonderful care given to Lillian over the years.
Chappy and Patti would also like to give special thanks to Lil's granddaughter,
(private), who was the extra special caregiver to grandma, while we were many
miles away. Your love and special care was very much appreciated!
