NORMA BORMAN

Mrs. James J. (Norma Jean) Borman, 46, of 1001 N. 11th Street, Manitowoc, died
Wednesday afternoon, December 26, at Holy Family Medical Center. Funeral services
will be 10 am Saturday, December 30, 1990 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry Heitke, brother of Norma
Jean, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born June 1, 1944 at Portage, Wisconsin, daughter of Irmina Beckius Heitke
and the late Clarence Heitke. She attended St. Mary's Grade School at Portage and
was a 1962 graduate of Divine Savior High School. She attended Marquette University
and graduated in 1970 with her B.A. in Psychology, German and Theology. She attended
Silver Lake College in the Master's Program. She taught school in Wausau, Bloomer,
Wauwatosa, Milwaukee and J.F.K. Prep at St. Nazianz from 1970-1980. She was employed
at Lakeshore Technical College in the Personnel Department and was an attendance
officer at Lincoln High School. She was currently at Roncalli High School as a Campus
Minister and a Religious Studies Instructor. She was a member of the Human Services
Council at Roncalli High School and initiated and coordinated a Grief Support Group.
She was a former member of the Salvatorian Sisters and presently an associate member
of the Salvatorian Fathers and Brothers (Society of the Divine Savior), member of Holy
Innocents Parish, Manitowoc County Youth Services Council, past present of the Holy
Innocents Band Parents, the Church Relations Council of Silver Lake College, a director
of the Manitowoc Municipal Employees Credit Union, the city of Manitowoc Police
Auxiliary and active on Committees at Lakeshore Technical College. She was also an
Evaluator for the North Center Accreditation Team. She was married to James J. Borman
on August 7, 1971 at J.F.K. Prep, St. Nazianz.
Survivors include her husband, James, her mother, Mrs. Irmina Heitke of Portage;
children include Edward (E.J.) and Jessie, Nathan and Jamie, all at home; brothers and
sisters include, Sister Beverly Heitke S.D.S. of Rome, Italy, Rev. Larry Heitke of
Madison, Wisconsin, Lester (Cherie) Heitke of Wilmer, Minnesota, Louis (Cynthia) Heitke
of Madison; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Viola Borman of Marinette; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends also survive.
Memorials to Roncalli High School would be appreciated. Friends may call at Roncalli
High School from 4-8 pm on Friday and Saturday at Holy Innocents Catholic Church from
9 am until the time of service. The visitation on Friday will close with a prayer
service at 8 pm led by the Roncalli Community. Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home is serving the family.
