WILHELMINA BRAASCH

Mrs. Minne (sic) Braasch, 86, widow of George C., of R. 4, Manitowoc, died
Wednesday evening in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. She had been a patient
there one week.
The former Minnie Schwantz, she was born at Newtonburg (Manitowoc County),
Sept. 26, 1879, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Dunnkake Schwantz. She
was married to Mr. Braasch, Feb. 22, 1905, at Newtonburg.
The couple farmed in the Town of Newton until retiring in 1952. Since her
husband’s death in June, 1953, she has lived with her son, Arthur, in the Town
of Kossuth.
Surviving, in addition to the son, Arthur, are a daughter, Mrs. Myran Nelson,
also Kossuth; a grandson, Donald Nelson, Placerville, Calif.; a granddaughter,
Mrs. Neil Johanson; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Henry Karstens,
Brillion.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc, with the Rev. T. F. Uetzmann, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Manitowoc after 3 p.m. Friday,
and after Saturday noon at the church.
