Mary A. Brandel, age 59, of 5923 CTH R, Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning,
Feb. 29, 2004, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Memorial
service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2004 at St. Boniface
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial
will be the Rev. Camillus Janas O.F.M. with burial of the cremated remains at
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mary was born on Jan. 10, 1945 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late John D. and
Elizabeth DeGoey Keller. She married Thomas Brandel on Feb. 28, 1967. Mary was
employed at various manufacturing companies, most recently at Imperial Eastman.
She then operated her own tavern in Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband: Thomas Brandel, Rockwood: one brother and sister-
in-law: John (Jack) and Shirley Keller Sr., Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law and
spouses: Merle and James Surfus, Manitowoc; Mary Anne and Philip Baranowski,
Green Lake; special niece: Debbie (Chris) Luebke. She is also survived by other
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was also preceded in
death by one nephew: John M. Keller Jr.; and one niece: Donna Baranowski.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, March 5, 2004 from 9:30
a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church,
Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the
family with funeral arrangements.
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff on the third floor
at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for the compassion and care given to Mary
and her family.
