Steps or Falls Into Car's Path on 21st Street
Henry Bratz, 71, of Reedsville Is Victim of Traffic
This city's 16 month record of no traffic fatalities was broken Wednesday with
the death of a 71 year old Reedsville man.
Police say the victim, Henry Bratz, was fatally injured about 3:45 p.m. when
he either fell or stepped off the 21st Street bridge into the path of an on-
coming automobile while pulling in a fishing net. Driver involved was Frank J.
Bonk, 69, of 1017 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc.
Bratz died at Holy Family Hospital less than three hours later of internal
hemorrhages. Death was originally attributed to a skull fracture but a post-
mortem examination conducted later revealed the hemorrhaging, according to
the coroner Dr. Theodore Teitgen. He said an inquest would be held into the
accident.

Driver Tells of Tragedy
Bonk told investigating officers that he was traveling south over the bridge
when he noticed Bratz pulling in a net containing a sucker over the railing.
He said the man either fell or stepped back over the curb into his car. Bratz
