Bernice R. Brauer, age 83, of 1424 Hubbard Circle, Manitowoc, died Thursday,
Sept. 28, 2006, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Redeemer
Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Miller will
officiate with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Bernice was born July 21, 1923, in Shawano County, daughter of the late
Theodore and Elsie Klabunde Schultz. On March 3, 1945, she married Edwin H.
Brauer at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The Rev. Schroth officiated.
Edwin preceded her in death in 1992. She worked for many years at Montgomery
Wards until her retirement. Bernice enjoyed spending quality time with family,
friends from the coffe club and remembering special occasions with her
thoughtful cards.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael (Theresa) Brauer,
Manitowoc; Kenneth (Jeanne) Brauer, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren; 2nd Lt.
Matthew Brauer, serving in Iraq; Casey Brauer, Manitowoc; Christine (Josh)
Perkins, Green Bay; Justin Brauer, Japan; Dustin Brauer, Japan; John Wedzicha,
Manitowoc, Helena Wedzicha, Manitowoc; one great-grandson; Edwin Brauer,
Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law; Louis (Janice) Schultz, Shawano; one
sister and brother-in-law; Beatrice (James) Brandt, Bonduel; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, Edwin, and an infant son. Bernice will be sadly missed by all
who knew her.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church from 9
