Norbert W. Braun, 73, of 1449 Elder Drive, Manitowoc, died Friday evening in
Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be in first German
Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norval W. Kock will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Braun was born April 5, 1905, in Wayside, Wis., son of the late Theodore and
Augusta Krueger Braun. He grew up in the Wayside area, attending local Wayside
school and moving to Manitowoc in 1926. He married Frieda Zimmermann Nov. 12,
1926, in St. John and St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Mr. Braun was
employed at Rahr Malting and also Anheuser Busch Company for 34 years retiring
in 1964 due to ill health. He was a member of the First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and
Patricia Braun of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Artis and Richard Laurin
of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Lillian) Pautz of Manitowoc and Mrs.
Emil (Esther) Arndt of Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard.
