Mrs. Joseph (Sophie) Braun, 72, of 1121 N. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Wednesday in Parkside Funeral Home and 10 am in Holy Innocents Catholic church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo Schmidt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Braun, nee Sophie Feuerstein, was born April 1, 1906 in Algoma, daughter of the late Anton and Emma Pinger Feuerstein. She attended St. Parochial School and was married to Frank Zettel in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1944. She was married to Joseph Braun in 1946. Mrs. Braun was a member of Holy Innocents Parish.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; a son, Robert Zettel and a daughter and son-in-law, Jerome and Carol Hietpas of Manitowoc and 12 grandchildren. Two sisters, Frances Feuerstein and Agnes Nuhs preceded her in death.
Friends may call in Parkside Funeral Home 4 pm to 9 pm Tuesday, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 pm.
