In mention of the surviving family of the late Charles Bressler (sic) Thursday,
the name of Miss Sophia Bressler, Miss Bressler has made her home with her
parents and assists with the care of her mother. The funeral of Mr. Bressler
will be held from the home tomorrow at 2. The daughter was inadvertently omitted.

by the death of their father, the late Charles Bressler.

Charles Bresler died Wednesday night last week at his home on Chicago
street of infirmities incident to old age. He was 89 years of age and
was born in Breslau, Germany in 1823 and came to this country in 1848,
settling in Manitowoc where he had resided ever since. He graduated
from an industrial school in his native land and after coming to this
country worked at the mason trade which occupation he followed for many
years.
Mr. Bresler was married to Miss Gabriel Fischer in this city May 11,
1853, who survives him but who has been afflicted with blindness the
past eight years. Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Frank
Bresler of Milwaukee and Chas. Bresler of Mexico, and three daughters,
Mrs. Mary Wellman of Madgeborg, Germany, Mrs. John Chloupek and Miss
Sophie Bresler of this city.
Chas. Bresler was a well known resident of this city. He was a good,
honest man, never having been known to speak ill or unkind of anyone.
He was a sincere and devout member of the German Methodist church.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, Rev. Mentzner of the German
Methodist church officiating. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
