KENNETH J. BREY (d. 2005)

Kenneth J. Brey, age 92, a resident of 2114 Fairmont St., Manitowoc, entered
into eternal life on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at his residence.
Kenneth was born on Nov. 30, 1912, in Manitowoc to the late Edward and Mary
Albrecht Brey. He was a member of Lincoln High SchoolÆs graduating class of
1930, and then completed his education at University of Wisconsin- Madison.
On Nov. 21, 1940, he married Monica Healy at St. Boniface Catholic Church in
Manitowoc. Kenneth was an active member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church,
serving on their building and grounds committee. He also was the past president
of the Golden Kiwanis, a member of the Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, Wisconsin
Society of Professional Engineers, and was a life long member of the Wisconsin
Land Surveyors Society. Some of his favorite pastimes were golf and bowling. He
was a very loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and just a heck of a
nice guy, a very civil engineer.
Survivors include three sons: Kenneth (JoAnn) Brey Jr., Sturgeon Bay; John (Sharon)
Brey, Clarks Mills; and Edwin (Lee Mary) Brey, Manitowoc; a son-in-law: Thomas
Golding; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; also nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends survive. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife: Monica;
a daughter: Julie Ann; a brother: Edwin; and also a special friend: Eileen Wergin.
A visitation will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 2,
2005, from 5 until 8 p.m. with a prayer service conducted by Ken's nephew, the Rev.
Dan Dewane at 7:30 pm. The visitation will continue on Monday, Oct. 3, at St.
Francis of Assisi - Waldo Site from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at
10 a.m. The Rev. Dan Dewane will be officiating with burial to follow at Evergreen
Cemetery.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc,
is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
