Mrs. Mary Brey, 84, of 810 N. 8th St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Glen Uhke will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Brey was born Feb. 15, 1884, at Two Rivers, daughter of the late Anton and
Pauline Gesell Albrecht. She was married to Edward F. Brey Sept. 8, 1909 at Two
Rivers. They owned and operated Brey's Food Market, Manitowoc, until his death,
Aug. 13, 1930. She continued management until 1948 when she sold the interest
to her son, Edwin. She remained active in its operation until 1964.
She is survived by two sons, Edwin and Kenneth, of Manitowoc; a brother, Albert,
of Two Rivers; four grandchildren and a great grandchild. A brother and a sister
preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Tuesday until
noon Wednesday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will
lie in state until time of service.
