WALTER BREY (d. 1954)

Walter Brey, 73, former Manitowoc resident, died Thursday night in a hospital
at Chicago. He had been in failing health in recent weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral home, Manitowoc, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
He was born in Manitowoc Jan. 15, 1881, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Brey Sr. He attended Manitowoc schools, married Miss Mary Kostlevy and became
associated with his father and brother in the Brey grocery and super market in
Manitowoc.
Disposing of his interest in that business 25 years ago he moved to Chicago to
take charge of the office and storage warehouse of the Manitowoc Portland Cement
Company. He retired a few years ago. He was a member of the Manitowoc Lodge of
Elks.
Surviving are his wife; and two sisters, Mrs. Meta Levenhagen of Manitowoc and
Mrs. Norman Markle of Rochester, Minn.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Sunday.
