CHARLES BRICK PASSES SUNDAY
Retired Farmer Dies At Home In Manitowoc Rapids
Charles Brick, retired farmer and resident of the county for 82 years, died
Sunday morning at the homestead in the town of Manitowoc Rapids. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the home and at 2
p.m. from the First German Evangelical Lutheran church. Interment will be at
Evergreen cemetery.
The deceased was born in Germany in 1849 and came to America with his parents
four years later. The family settled on a farm in the town of Newton in 1853.
In 1876 Mr. Brick was married to Sophia Wegner. They located on what was known
as the Hubbard Mill farm in the town of Rapids. Mr. Brick remained on this
same farm for a 57-year span.
Survivors are his widow; a son, E.C. Brick, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Erwin
Wernecke, also on the home farm; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body was removed to the home from the Vogelsang funeral parlors this
afternoon.
