STROKE FATAL TO MRS. BRICK, AGED RESIDENT
Mrs. Louise Brick, widow of John Brick, died this morning at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Ernst Schmiedicke, 807 York street. Mr. Brick, who was eighty-
four years old, suffered a stroke of paralysis four weeks ago and failed to
rally from the attack. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock
from the Schmiedicke home and services at Evergreen chapel with the Rev. Karl
Machmiller officiating.
Mrs. Brick, nee Wolter, was born in Holstein, Denmark, January 28, 1838 and came
to America with her parents, one brother and a sister in 1854, the family taking
up its home at Newton in this county. In 1860 she was married to John Brick who
preceded her in death thirty-five years ago. For many years Mrs. Brick made her
home alone at 1329? South Ninth street but eight years ago took up her residence
with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, one step son, Charles Brick
and a brother Jacob Walter, of this city. One grandchild, Ruth Schmiedicke, also
survives her.
