KENNETH BRUECHERT

Kenneth H. Bruechert, age 68, of 1402 S. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died on Thursday
evening, July 31, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1939, in Manitowoc, son of the late Reinhold and Lucille
(Waegli) Bruechert. Ken was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers,
class of 1957. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed at El Toro,
Santa Ana, Calif., as an air corps. mechanic and was a member of the Marine Corps
Band. He enlisted in June of 1957 and received his honorable discharge in April
of 1959. On Aug. 8, 1980, he married the former Mary K. Field at Faith Lutheran
Church, Valders. Ken began his career as a truck driver with Gilson Trucking,
C. Schlei Dray Line and Clem Becker Meats of Two Rivers. He then began his
employment with Schneider Transportation of Green Bay, where he proudly completed
30 years of accident free service for the company. After his retirement, he was
employed with Maritime Metro Transit as a city bus driver from December of 1997,
through January of 2004. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie
706.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at St. Paul
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will
be the Rev. Brian Staude. Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post 659
immediately following the service. Ken has been cremated, and the cremated remains
will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, until the time of service at 11
a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center is assisting the Bruechert family
with funeral arrangements.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Holy Family Memorial Hospice for
the compassionate care given to Ken.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who adored his entire family.
His grandchildren were the loves of his life. Ken enjoyed the comradery of camping
with his "Up North" friends. He also loved his faithful companion and pet, a Springer
Spaniel named Max, who was his constant and loving guardian.
