OTTO A. BRUNS (d. 1976)

Otto A. Bruns, 58, of 1410 Nagle Ave., Manitowoc, died Friday morning at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Bruce Hanstedt will officiate with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Bruns was born July 23, 1917, in the Town of Newton, son of the late Otto
and Lillian Rehbein Bruns. He attended Manitowoc schools and was graduated from
Lincoln High School in 1935. He attended Manitowoc Business College and entered
the U.S. Armed Forces June 12, 1941, and was stationed with the 726th Amphibian
Tank Battalion ni the western Pacific, with the rank of captain. He was
discharged March 18, 1946. He married Lois Wigen Nov. 16, 1946, at Manitowoc,
residing here all their lives. Following his discharge from military service he
was employed at Rahr Malting Co., Manitowoc, and from 1964 until illness forced
his retirement in 1975, was office manager at Hamann Construction Co. Mr. Bruns
was a member of First Lutheran Church, Brotherhood of the church, Manitowoc Elks
Club No. 687 and Eagles Aerie No. 706.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Brian, at home; two daughters, Mrs. E. Curtis
(Wendy) Ross, of Green Bay and Miss Holly Bruns, of Madison and a sister, Mrs.
Lawrence Bonin, of Two Rivers. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, has charge of funeral arrangements. There will be
no visitation. The casket will remain closed. Memorials may be made to First
Lutheran Church.
