LOUIS E. CARSTENS
Louis E. Carstens, 91, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 3, at Manitowoc Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Carstens was born Aug. 28, 1891, at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Henry and Anna Meyer Carstens. He attended schools at Manitowoc Rapids. He married Olga Huebner, April 13, 1914, at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in 1962. Mr. Carstens was a farmer his entire lifetime. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Florence Carstens of Manitowoc, Arthur and Delores Carstens of Fort Atkinson, and Anthony and Angeline Carstens of Sturgeon Bay; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy Walum of Seattle, Wash., and Delores and Robert Walske of Manitowoc; a brother, Henry Carstens of Brillion, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated today when Louis Carstens, a well known town of Rapids man, claimed as his bride, Miss Olga Heubner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Heubner, Washington Street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Machmiller at 4 o'clock and the bridal couple was attended by Misses Lillian Meyer and Viola Groth and Harvey Carstens and Edward Heubner. A wedding dinner was served at the bride's home and after a honeymoon trip Mr. and Mrs. Carstens will take up their home at Rapids.
