Wilbur L. Carter, 43, of 1131 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday evening
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc where he had been a patient two days.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army Citadel,
Manitowoc. Capt. Jack Keyte will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Carter was born Aug. 31, 1924, at Racine, son of the late Albert and
Margaret Boedecker Carter. He moved to Manitowoc as a child and attended city
public schools. He married the former Joyce Blahnik Oct. 19, 1953, at Dubuque,
Iowa.
He was employed as a truck driver for Pozorski Hauling Service, Manitowoc, for
a month and had been previously employed at Aluminum Speciality Co., Manitowoc
for four years. A World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Carter was
a member of Musicians Local 195, the Salvation Army Senior Soldiers and was a
past president of the Men's Fellowship Club of the Salvation Army.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, and two daughters (Private), and three
sisters, Mrs. Charles Paulus, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Robert Suchan, of Brillion and
Mrs. Norman Koeser, of Newton.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 6 o'clock this Friday
evening until noon Saturday when the body will be removed to the citadel.
