STEVE J. CHADEK
Steve Chadek, 80, formerly of 622 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning
after an illness of four months.
Funeral services will be at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at Mittacht Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. the Rev. D.L. Krembs
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Chadek was born in the Town of Gibson, Manitowoc County, May 16, 1880, son
of the late Thomas Rozina Wovejda Chadek. He came to Manitowoc when a child with
his parents and was employed as a chipper for 43 years by Manitowoc Shipbuilding
Inc. He retired in 1947.
Mr. Chadek married Emma Bjornsen in 1918 and the couple always resided at Manitowoc.
He was a member of Boilermakeers Local 443 and Golden Agers Club.
Surviving are his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Clara Knipp, Mrs. Bert Helwich, Mrs.
Michael O'Hearn, Mrs. Lloyd Alvod and Mrs. Sylvester Strauss, of Manitowoc and
10 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will
be recited at 7 p.m.
