Shirley A. Champine, age 77, of 1008 N. 23rd. St., Manitowoc, passed
away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at her home, surrounded by her family,
after a long battle with heart disease.
Shirley was born on June 28, 1930, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late
Henry and Anna (Havlichek) Cayemberg. She was a graduate of Lincoln
High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1947. On March 16, 1974, she
married Francis "Sonny" Champine at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc. Shirley was a 37 year employee of Hal's Red Owl in Manitowoc,
and retired as an assistant manager. She was a longtime bowler, scoring
many 600's in her career.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Robert
(Georgine) Dokey.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi on
Grand. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dan
Felton. Cremation will take place, with the burial of the cremated
remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on
Tuesday (TONIGHT), Dec. 4, 2007, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S.
14th St., Manitowoc.
Visitation will continue from 9 until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007,
at the funeral home.
The families of Shirley wish to thank the Dr., Holy Family Memorial
Medical Center and Holy Family Hospice for the compassionate
care given to our mother.
