Mrs. Flora Champion, 69, of 1725 Revere Dr., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday in Wesley United Methodist Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. David Passet will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Champion was born Feb. 16, 1909 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Herman and Clara Radue Krohn. She was educated in Manitowoc area schools and was a bookkeeper at Buerstatte Drug Store until her retirement in 1969. She was married to Clifford Thorlson in 1932. He died in 1968. She was married to Joseph Champion in 1948(sic). He preceded her in death in 1956. Mrs. Champion was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Mary Circle.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Patricia Thorlson Sr. of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and George Martin of Springfield, Ill.; a step son and step daughter-in-law, Wesley and Lorna Champion of Waupun; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Bellmore of Hermansville, Mich., and Mrs. Laban (Lynda) Baird of Vulcan, Mich.; four grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, Lyle, a step son, Edward and a sister, Edna preceded her in death. Friends may call in Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 9 pm Friday and in the church from 12:30 pm Saturday until the time of service.
