Leonore Shirley Chavez
Mrs. Jose (Shirley) Chavez, age 84, of 4710 River Heights Drive, Manitowoc, died on Friday morning, June 11, 2010, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab Center in West Bend.
Shirley was born on Oct. 10, 1925, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Leo and Ida (Schmidt) Brandt. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Shirley married Jose Chavex in Deming, New Mexico on March 11, 1943. She was employed at Mirro as a general foreman and retired in 1991. Shirley was a former member of St. James Episcopal Church. She enjoyed working crosword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband: Jose Chave, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law; three grandchidlren; three great-grandchildren; twin sister and brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law (private). Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leo and Ida Brandt; three brothers: Col. Leo "Bud" Brandt, John Brandt, David Brandt; and three sisters: June Stehn, Althea Lippert, and Marilyn Larson; three brothers-in-law: Harvey Lippert, Randolph Stehn, and Dr. Theodore G. Larson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010, at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Diane Murray will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m.
