JULIA CHLOUPEK (d. 1930)

MRS. CHLOUPEK, WIFE OF JUDGE, DIES AT HOME
Brief Illness Follows in Death to Shock Friends in City;
Was a Life-long Resident
A heart ailment which had confined her to her bed for the past ten
days, shortly after 1 o'clock this afternoon claimed the life of Mrs.
John Chloupek, wife of Probate Judge John Chloupek. Death occurred at
the family home at 1502 Michigan avenue.
News of the death of Mrs. Chloupek, one of the most beloved of women
and a pioneer of the county, came as a shock to the entire city as many
were unaware of her illness. The end came suddenly as her condition was
not regarded as serious this morning. With her at the time of her death
was her husband, Judge Chloupek who himself is slowly recovering from
an attack of illness which he suffered many months ago and which has at
times confined him to his home.
Was 67 years of Age
Mrs. Chloupek was born in Manitowoc about 67 years ago and was Julia
Bressler, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bressler, prior to her
marriage to John Chloupek on May 16, 1888. Her entire lifetime was spent
in the city and county of Manitowoc where she enjoyed a wide circle of
friends, all of whom regarded her with an unusual degree of respect and
affection. To them and to many others of the city she was "Mother"
Chloupek and her kindly sympathetic nature made her welcome wherever she
went. Primarily interested in her home and family, she was the mother of
four children, Eugene at Evanston, Ill., Frank at Dallas, Texas, Roland
at Milwaukee and Mrs. Al Goedgen at Green Bay. Ten grandchildren also
survive.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed but will be announced tomorrow.
