Mrs. Evelyn M. Christel, 72, of 2319 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Friday,
Aug. 13, a Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m.
at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will celebrate
the Mass of Resurrection and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Christel, nee Evelyn M. Rott, was born Dec. 13, 1909, in the Town of
Cooperstown, daughter of the late Anton and Emma Zeman Rott. She was married
to Ralph L. Christel July 11, 1934, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville.
After their marriage, the couple moved to Manitowoc, residing here since. They
were owners and operators of Christel's Tavern in Manitowoc for 25 years. Mr.
Christel preceded her in death May 4, 1962. Mrs. Christel was a member of W.F.L.
Association.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Christel and David Christel of Manitowoc, and
a brother and sister-in-law, Edward R. and Alvina Rott of Manitowoc. She was
preceded in death by a brother, Anton.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock Sunday where
a prayer service will be held at 7:30 o'clock by Father Berryman.
