Ralph L. Christel, 71, of 2319 S. Tenth St. Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening,
May 4, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Fuenral Home and 10
a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will
celebrate the Mass of Resurrection and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Christel was born May 28, 1910, at Valders, son of the late Frank and
Catherine Spurney Christel. He married Evelyn M. Rott July 11, 1934, at St.
Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Mr. Christel was employed at the former
Whitehouse Milk Company, Manitowoc, for 13 years, after which Mr. and Mr.
Christel operated the former Christel's Tavern in Manitowoc for 25 years. He
was last employed by Red Arrow Products for eight years, retiring in 1974.
Mr. Christel was a member of Western Fraternal Life Association.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Ronald and David C. Christel of
Manitowoc; three brothers, John Elmer of Arkansas, Alvin Elmer and Wencil Elmer
both of Maribel; two sisters, Sister Kay Elmer of Silver Lake College, and Mrs.
Norbert (Anita) Greenwood of Maribel.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday
where a pray service will be at 8 p.m.
