CARL N. CHRISTENSEN (d. 1959)
Carl N. Christensen, 70, of 1022A S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he was a patient the past week.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
with the Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Christensen was born Aug, 30, 1889, at Randers, Denmark, son of the late
Peter and Betty Johnson Christensen. He married the former Emma Olsen in 1906
at Randers. The couple moved to the United States in 1912, coming to Wisconsin
where he was employed as a blacksmith at Marion, Iola, Clintonville and Wittenberg.
They moved to Manitowoc in 1929 and he became employed as a toolsmith by Manitowoc
Shipbuilding Inc., until retirement in February, 1959. Mr. Christensen was a
member of the Boilermakers Local 443. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Survivors include the wife, a son, Christian of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Alvin
Seymour of Green Bay; two brothers, William of Kimberly and John of Davison, Mich.;
three sisters, Mrs. Nels Fjellerad of Imberly and Mrs. Clarence Robinson and Mrs.
Christine Hoffman of Antigo; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
