Mrs. Julia Christensen, 72, former Manitowoc resident, died late Monday night
at St. Michael Hospital, Milwaukee, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc, with the Rev. Roland L. Schwandt, officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Julia Pilz was born at Manitowoc June 14, 1884, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Pilz. She was married to Olaf Christensen in November of
1906, and the couple resided in the city. Mr. Christensen died in 1952 and a
year later Mrs. Christensen moved to Milwaukee to live with her daughters. She
was a member of the Eastern Star of Manitowocc and the Women's Club of Bay
Shore Lutheran Church, Milwaukee.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Fred Wissmueller and Mrs. George Kuehn
of Milwaukee and Mrs. James Davis of Washington, D.C.; two sons, Oscar and
Fred of Green Bay; a sister, Mrs. Gustave Jorsch of Manitowoc; and six grand-
children.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 4 p.m. Wednesday
until 11 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be moved to the church where the
body will lie in state until the hour of service.
