Mr. Clyde E. Christiansen, 78, of 819 N. 6th Street, Manitowoc, died
early Monday morning, January 11, 1988 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church,
Manitowoc. Rev. William Plank will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Christiansen was born June 23, 1909 at Port Washington, son of the
late Oscar and Eunice Tietjen Christiansen. He attended schools in
Milwaukee and graduated from Washington High School. He also attended
UW-Milwaukee. Mr. Christiansen was a Metropolitan Life Insurance
Salesman from 1936 until his retirement in 1974. He was a L.U.T.C.
graduate. He married Helen Brandt on June 2, 1937 at Manitowoc. The
couple has resided here all their lives. They celebrated their 50th
Wedding Anniversary in 1987. Mr. Christiansen was a member of First
Presbyterian Church and an elder. He was also a member of Manitowoc
Masonic Lodge; Manitowoc Countil; Manitowoc Chapter; Manitowoc Commandry
and Northeast Wisconsin Scottish Rite Beja Shrine of Green Bay. Mr.
Christiansen was a member and past president of the Two Rivers Shrine
Club and played in the Shrine Band for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Helene of Manitowoc; a son and
daughter-in-law, Kent and Kay Christiansen of Cedarburg, Wisconsin and
two grandchildren, Eric and Enid at home.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 6 pm to 9 pm Tuesday
and 9 am to 11 am Wednesday and then at the church from 12 noon to the
time of services. Masonic memorial service will be 7:30 pm Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Shriners Hospital
for Crippled Children.
