Benjamin R. Church, 85, formerly of Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc, died
Saturday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Park Lawn Nursing Home Chapel.
The Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Church was born Sept. 18, 1891, at Syracuse, N.Y., son of the late Richard
and Jenny Church. He was educated in Syracuse schools. Mr. Church entered
military service July 3, 1917, and was discharged March 25, 1919. He received
the distinguished Medal of Honor for service beyond the call of duty. He was
a radio commentator for many years.
He is preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at the nursing home chapel after 10 a.m. Tuesday until the
time of service. Memorials may be given to the Park Lawn Nursing Home.
Funeral arrangements are by Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. There will be no
visitation.
