Mrs. Ellen (Nel) Kroffoot(sic), 90, of 2811 Agnes St., Altoona, Wis., died
Saturday evening, March 15, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, Wis.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Order of Eastern Star No.
196 conducting services. The Rev. Arthur Wille will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Kroffoot, nee Ellen Kratz, was born Oct. 20, 1889, at Menominee, Mich.,
daughter of the late John and Julia O'Connell Kratz. She graduated from Northside
High School and attended the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. She was a
secondary school teacher of Home Economics. She was married to Ray Kroffoot
April 24, 1916, at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Kroffoot
was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 196 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Ralph Gooding of Altoona;
two grandchildren, Ralph J.H. of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gail Plank of Wabasha, Minn.,
and a great grandchild (private). A sister preceded her in death.
Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of local arrangements.
