Ervin J. Dassey, 53, of 1005 North 21st St., Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 9 o'clock at Holy Innocents Church. The Rev. E.A. Radey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Dassey was born in Marinette in 1899 and at the age of 18 years enlisted in the U.S. Army for three years. In 1924 he came to Manitowoc and in 1928 married Miss Rose Cisler. He was a maltster at the Wisconsin Malting Company for 19 years and a member of the Malsters Union and the Holy Name Society of the Holy Innocents congregation.
Survivors are his wife; son, Ervin Jr. of Manitowoc; daughter, Mrs. Alvin Czechonski of Manitowoc; brother, Frank of Two Rivers; four sisters, Mrs. Jack Bies and Mrs. Frank Holson of Route 2, Manitowoc, Mrs. Frank Cambry of Marinette and Mrs. William Novacie of Phoneix, Ariz.
Friends may call at the funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
