Rose M. Dassey, age 95, a Manitowoc resident, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Rose was born Sept. 6, 1907 at Stangelville, daughter of the late George and Mary Rabitz Cisler. She grew up and was educated at Stangelville. On July 24, 1928 she was married to Ervin J. Dassey at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Stangelville. Ervin preceded her in death March 29, 1952. She was a member of Holy Innocents Parish. Rose enjoyed baking, TV game shows and, most importantly, her grandchildren, great- and great-, great-grandchildren. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law: Lorraine and Alvin Czechanski, Two Rivers; a son and daughter-in-law: Ervin and Sharon Dassey, Manitowoc; grandchildren: Kimberly (Steve) Steeno, Manitowoc; David (Kathleen) Czechanski, Two Rivers; Mark (Sherrie) Czechanski, Manitowoc; Kevin Czechanski, Two Rivers; great-grandchildren: Kelley Czechanski, Two Rivers; Jill Katz, Manitowoc; Andrew Czechanski and Rebecca Czechanski, both Two Rivers; great-great-grandchildren: Tyler Dassey, Alexa Rose Cook, Tyler Katz and Jordyn Halstrom. Brother and sister-in-law: Christ and June Cisler, Whitefish Bay; a sister: Martha Ledvina, Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to her parents and husband: Ervin, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Shirley and a sister: Anna Skubal. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Waldo Boulevard at North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family at Holy Innocents Catholic Church from 9 a.m. Saturday to the time of service at 10:30 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc, is serving the Dassey family.
