Garfield Louis DeGrand, 38, operator of the Mon-a-Mi club on Memorial drive,
died Thrusday afternoon at Holy Family hosptial of pneumonia.
Funeral srvices will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the St. James Episcopal
church, the Rev. F.C. St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home
until 2 p.m. Saturday and at the church from 2 to 3 p.m.
Mr. DeGrand was born in 1910 in Green Bay, and came to Manitowoc with his
parents in 1910. He was employed at the Aluminum Specialty company and the
Manitowoc Iron and Metal company before taking over the club five years ago.
He is survived by a son, (Survivor omitted for privacy.); mother, Mrs. James
Bastian of Manitowoc; sister Mrs. Edgar Vogt of Manitowoc.
