Mrs. William Dickman, 66, of Howards Grove-Millersville, died at the University
Hospitals in Madison, Friday morning following a brief illness.
The former Esther Free was born at Manitowoc Rapids on March 6, 1902, the
daughter of Henry and Marie Free. She married Paul Krueger in 1920.
They farmed in the Manitowoc Rapids area until 1936 when they moved to Kiel. Mr.
Krueger died in 1955.
In 1958 she married William Dickman.
She was a member of St. Paul’ Lutheran Church, Howards Grove-Millersville, and
the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Schenell of
Kiel; one son, August Krueger, of Kiel; eight grandchildren; two stepchildren,
Mrs. Wilbert (Elidah) Clavers and Milton Dickman, both of Sheboygan Falls; three
brothers, Raymond, Arthur and Edwin Free, all of Kiel.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,
Howards Grove-Millersville, with the Rev. Henry Juroff, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home, Howards Grove-Millersville,
from 3 pm. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday and at the church Monday from noon until
the time of services.
A memorial fund for the Manitowoc Lutheran High School has been established in Mrs.
Dickman’s name.
