DEATH CLAIMS 3 RESIDENTS OVER WEEKEND
Mrs. Augusta Dittmar, widow of the late John Dittmar, a native of Manitowoc,
but who for the past few years has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs.
John Johnson at Milwaukee, died there this morning after a week's illness. The
body will be brought to Manitowoc on Wednesday afternoon, and taken to the
Pfeffer chapel, from where the funeral services will be held at two o'clock
Thursday afternoon.
The deceased whose maiden name was Augusta Hardow, was born in this city March 27,
1858 and was married to John Dittmar here Sept. 25, 1879. He passed away three
years ago.
Four children, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Johnson at Milwaukee, and three sons, Herman
of this city and Edwin and Walter of Milwaukee and a brother, John Hardow of this
city, and six grandchildren survive.
Mrs. Dittmar was a member of the German Lutheran church of this city for many
years and since being at Milwaukee was a member of the Lutheran congregation there
presided over by the Rev. C. F. Dietz. The latter will officiate at the funeral
services here on Thursday.
