Jasper J. Dodge, 86, of 3111 Calumet Ave., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening, Nov. 19, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund E. Olson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post No. 659.
Mr. Dodge was born Feb. 21, 1897, at Rice Lake, Wis., son of the late August and Carolina West Dodge. He grew up and was educated at Rice Lake and has been a Manitowoc resident since 1942. He married Dagny A. Wold Nov. 14, 1941. Mr. Dodge was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company as a sheet metal worker, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Boilermakers Union 442 and was a Veteran of World War I serving in the United States Army with the 32nd division serving in France and Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Dagny; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Gordon and Mary Jane Lloyd and Lloyd and Irene, Allen Dodge all of Rice Lake and Michael of Manitowoc, a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and John Dietrich of Birchwood, Wis.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.
