Carl Doerschner, 85, retired town of Newton farmer, died early Tuesday evening
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martin Schuette, 921 S. 13th street. He had
been ill since last fall.
The body may be viewed at the Pfeffer funeral home after seven o’clock tonight
and funeral services will be held there Friday afternoon at two o’clock, the
Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Doerschner was born in Germany Jan. 19, 1856 and came to the United States
in 1882. He operated a farm in Newton until his retirement 23 years ago. On
Nov. 22, 18_4 he married Miss Louisa Sacse. The survivors are two daughters,
Mrs. Alvina Arndt of Withee, Wis., and Mrs. Martin Schuette of this city; three
sons, Albert, Adolph and Herbert, all of Chicago; 10 grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
