Clara E. Dorschner, 93, formerly of ?? Marshall Street, Manitowoc, who had been
residing at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, September 18, 1990
at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday
at Wesley United Methodist Church. Rev. Philip Keras will officiate with burial
at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born December 14, 1896 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late William and
Alvina Wolfordt Toltzmann. She came to Manitowoc as a young girl and attended
local schools. She married Harold Dorschner on January 17, 1920 in Manitowoc. The
couple resided in Manitowoc. She was a life long member of Wesley United Methodist
Church and was active in the Women's Society and Martha Circle of the church. She
was also a long time member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary 659 and member
and past president of World War I Auxiliary 2565.
Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. (Retired) Harold W. and
Betty Dorschner of Friedberg, Germany; three grandsons, Master Sgt. (Retired)
David and his wife, Mary of Huschuca City, Arizona, Dr. John Dorschner and his
wife, Nila with the U.S. Embassy at Dhaka, Bangladesh and Captain James Dorschner
who is stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia; four great grandsons, Travis, Daryl,
Neal and Kristian and a great granddaughter, Kristl Dorschner; a brother and two
sisters-in-law, Frederick and Jean Toltzman of Manitowoc, Elmyra Toltzman of
Manitowoc; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband,
two sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, 5 pm to 8 pm Sunday and Monday at the church
from 9:30 am until the time of services. VFW Auxiliary 659 will conduct Memorial
Services at 7:30 pm. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist church.
