Mr. Harold J. Dorschner, 84, of 2506 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Monday, July 13, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. David Passet will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, with military graveside services accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post No. 659.
Mr. Dorschner was born Dec. 14, 1896, at Hortonville, Wis., son of the late Frank and Anna Sievert Dorschner. He attended schools in Brillion and was employed with Northwestern Railroad Company as an engineer for 50 years, retiring in 1964. He married Clara Toltzmann Jan. 17, 1920, at Manitowoc, the couple residing here all their lives. Mr. Dorschner was a World War I veteran entering service in August of 1914 and being discharged in May of 1919. He was a private in Company C, 9th Infantry and Second Division and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Betty Dorschner of Ockstadt, Germany; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Norman and Leona Dorschner of Chilton and Ethel Dorschner of Elgin, Ill.; three grandsons and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until 11 a.m. and at the church from noon until the time of services. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
