FORMER UTILITY EXECUTIVE FOUND DEAD IN MYSTERY
The body of man found dead Tuesday in the Fort Dearborn hotel,
117 West Van Buren street, was identified yesterday as that of
Robert C. Douglas, until recently vice president and general
manager of the United Cities Utilities company, 22 West Monroe
street. Douglas, who had registered July 28 under the name
Richard C. Davis of Battle Creek, Mich., lived in Manitowoc,
Wis., but also maintained a small apartment in the Seneca hotel.
He was identified by Arthur K. Lee, president of the utilities
company, which has properties in the midwest and south. Lee said
Douglas resigned July 22, giving no reason. Altho Dr. I. M.
Feinberg, coroner's physician, issued a certificate giving the
cause of death as organic heart disease, Chief Deputy Coroner
Anthony Prusinsky has ordered a postmortem.

CHICAGO (AP)—A verdict of suicide was returned today by a coroner's
jury which investigated the death of Robert C. Douglas, 59, Manitowoc,
Wis., former vice president of the United Cities Utilities Company.
