WHITELAW HAS FACTORY FIRE
Doyle Cheese Factory Burns to Ground at Noon Today
Fire, discovered at noon today destroyed the cheese factory owned by Thomas Doyle
at Whitelaw, entailing a loss of several hundred dollars, covered by insurance of
$600. The fire started in the upper portion of the building and was burning in
the roof when discovered by persons passing the factory. An alarm was given and
with the aid of neighbors Mr. Doyle succeeded in saving a considerable part of the
machinery of the factory, one cheese vat and a quantity of cheese, thus reducing
the loss by considerable. The origin of the fire is a mystery. The factory is one
of the best known in that section of the county and has been operated by Mr. Doyle
for some time. Doyle resides a considerable distance from the factory.
