"Harry F. Drews, 68, of 1203 New York Ave., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alois Dembski of 2407 S. Tenth St., Manitowoc, following a brief illness.
"Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, the Rev. Max Hermann officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, Military graveside rites will be conducted by Otto Oas Post No. 659 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
"Mr. Drews was born 6 May 1893, at Manitowoc, the older of two sons of the late Henry & Anna (Mueller) Drews. The family moved to Cooperstown when he was a boy and he attended school in that community.
"He married Emma Lydia Weitzman-Krouse on 6 April 1929 at Manitowoc and the couple made its home in the city."
Emma was raising three children from her first marriage to Earl Edward Krouse. While they had no children together, Emma & Harry had 25 years of marriage together, raising these three children into successful adults.
"Harry Drews was a veteran of World War I; serving from 1917 to 1919 with Company B, 58th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Division. He saw service in France where he was wounded in action.
"After his military service, Mr. Drews was employed on a farm and later worked at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company and also for Bahr Construction Compamy He was employed by Schwartz Aluminum Foundry Company from 1938 until 1946. He was then employed as a buffer at Eck Aluminum Foundry until he retired in May 1958."

Harry died from cancer at age 68; his wife preceded him in death in 1954.
