LEONARD JOSEPH DUEBNER

Leonard J. Duebner, age 84, of 731 S. 20th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Bill Klein with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, where graveside military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post 569. Leonard was born March 19, 1918 son of the late Ernest C. and Anna Scherer Duebner. He served his country during World War II in the Infantry, serving in Japan and Asiatic - Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1947. On Jan. 17, 1948 Leonard married the former Delores J. Rosenow in Manitowoc. He had been employed as a Printer, beginning his career in 1936 at Brandt Printing and Binding Co. where he worked for 22 years. Leonard then was employed by the Maresch Printing Co., retiring from the Herald Times Reporter in the early 1980s. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and past member of the Sea Gull Club, V.F.W., and Local 431 Typographical Union, where he served as past president. Leonard loved woodworking and could repair everything. Survivors include his wife: Delores Duebner, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Marilyn Duebner, The Colony, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra Lee and James Bursek, Sheboygan, Marilyn and Daniel Nate, Reedsville, Marlene and Mark Brunner, Manitowoc; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Leo Gallenberger, Cocoa, FL, Ervin Pribek, Manitowoc; further survived by nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Leonard also was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. The Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff on the third floor and CCU of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for the wonderful care they gave to Leonard.
