HAROLD EDWARD DUFEK

Harold E. Dufek, 87, 1848 Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died Thursday evening, Oct. 27, 2005. Harold was born April 23, 1918, at Stangelville, son of the late Matthew and Elsie Dufek. He grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1936 graduate of Manitowoc's Lincoln High School. On Jan. 12, 1943, Harold was married to the former Grace Teteak at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. On May 27, 1942, Harold was inducted into the United States Army serving as a World War II veteran until his discharge on Jan. 26, 1946. Harold was employed by Rahr Malting and later for the Anheuser-Busch, retiring in 1984 as their traffic manager. He was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, the Ostomy Club and a former member of the Aerie # 706 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife, Grace, Manitowoc; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim Dufek, Manitowoc; Phil (Margaret) Dufek, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane (Jeff) Pagels, Ashwaubenon; four grandchildren, Heather Dufek, Manitowoc; Kimberly Dufek, Manitowoc; Corey (Sara) Pagels, Oregon, Wis.; Chad (Jen) Pagels, DeForest, Wis.; two great-granddaughters, Calla and Zoey Pagels; and one great-grandson to be born in December; one sister-in-law, Florence Teteak, Manitowoc. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ross; three brothers-in-law, Elmer Ross, Harry Teteak and Clyde LaPeriere; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Teteak, Evelyn Teteak and Myrtle LaPeriere. Relatives and friends may call at the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 N. Rapids Road, Manitowoc. The Rev. Thomas Pankow will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Holy Family Memorial Cancer Care Center or the Ostomy Club. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the Dufek family.
