Mrs. Andrew J. Dufek, 65, of Carey, Ill, died Monday at home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Methodist Church,
Carey. The casket will be brought to Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, where
friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. Friday when services will
be conducted by the Rev. D.L. Wandschneider. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Harriet Schneider was born May 28, 1897, at Kewaunee, daughter of
the late Charles and Frances Novotny Schneider. She was married to Andrew
Dufek at Chicago Oct. 10, 1925, and the couple resided there until 1939, moving
to Carey. She had been past president of Carey American Legion Auxiliary, a
member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Crystal Lake, Ill., member of
First Methodist Church of Carey since 1940 and past president of the Ladies Aid
of the church.
Surviving are her husband, a brother, Charles Schneider, of Kewaunee, a sister,
Mrs. Anna Paul, of Vrensenville, Ill., and six grandchildren. A son, William,
a sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
