William Dusold, 73, retired mail carrier, died suddenly of a stroke at the home,
1610 Marshall street, early today.
He had been about as usual yesterday, visiting his son, Earl in the morning,
and attending a ball game at West field in the afternoon. He listened to radio
programs Sunday night and retired at 9:30 o’clock. He was found dead in bed this
morning when his wife went to call him for breakfast.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Pfeffer funeral home.
The Rev. F. C. St. Clair of the St. James church will officiate. Interment will
be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Dusold was born in Manitowoc in 1865 and spent his entire life here. He
entered the postal service as a substitute carrier in 1893 and was promoted to
a regular carrier in 1900 being one of the first carriers when regular delivery
service was established here. He retired 16 years ago. He was a member of the
Eagles lodge and the Royal League.
In 1900 Mr. Dusold married Miss Mary Schapert. She survives with a son, Earl, of
this city; three brothers, Edward of this city, George of Sheboygan, and Oliver
of Sandusky, Ohio.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday noon until the hour of
the services Wednesday.
