Trotwood C. (Trot) Eckhart, 87, of 1118 Green St., Manitowoc, died Saturday,
July 17, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Private family services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
Vicar Jeffrey M. Seelow will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc, with graveside military rites accorded by American Legion Drews-Bleser
Post 88.
Mr. Eckhart was born July 9, 1895, at Fort Atkinson, Wis., son of the late Louis
and Anna Lange Eckhart. He married Ellenor Folletz, Sept. 23, 1921, at Manitowoc.
He was a Veterans Service Officer for 25 years, retiring in 1962. Mr. Eckhart was
a member of American Legion Drews-Bleser Post 88, V. F. W. of Two Rivers, Veterans
Service Office Association, First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
and a past member of 40 and 8. He was secretary and treasurer of Last Man's Club
of which there were 11 original members and two survivors remaining.
Survivors include his wife, Ellenor; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lydia Eckhart of
Carlinville, Ill.; a niece, Mrs. George Fogel of Carlinville; a nephew, Edgar Wolf
of Fort Atkinson, and seven cousins. He was preceded in death by four brothers and
a sister.
Friends may call at Jens Fuenral Home and Crematory from 5 o'clock to 9 o'clock
this Monday evening and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials
may be made to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
