GEORGE J. EISNER

George Eisner, 49-year-old heating salesman, was found dead slumped over the
steering wheel of his car this morning by members of his family at the home,
635 North Fifth street.
Coroner Gerald Rau of Two Rivers, who was summoned, said death was due to
carbon monoxide fumes from Eisner’s car.
Mr. Eisner, according to his relatives, had been despondent in recent months.
He had threatened to end his life on previous occasions but had always been
dissuaded. He had canvassed his territory yesterday and returned home as usual
last evening.
The coroner said the ignition in Eisner’s car had been turned off, indicating
he had endeavored to reconsider his act, but too late.
Mr. Eisner was born on a farm in Manitowoc Rapids in 1890, son of Mr. and Mrs.
John Eisner. Twenty-six years ago he married Miss Mayme Gunderson and they
located at Kenosha for two years, returning to Manitowoc to reside. In recent
years Mr. Eisner has been a salesman for William Schaus and Son, heating
contractors, covering territory in rural areas of the county.
Survivors are the widow; son Darral, city; father, John, city; brother, Edward,
Manitowoc Rapids, five sisters, Mrs. William Wanager, Mrs. Amanda Paul, Mrs.
Harvey Backus, all of this city; Mrs. Henry Bogenschuetz of Appleton; Mrs.
Reinhardt Hablewitz of town of Manitowoc.
Funeral services will probably be held Thursday, the definite time to be
announced tomorrow. The body is at the Frazier mortuary.
