ROBERT A. EISNER, SR. (d. 1980)

Robert A. Eisner Sr., 86, of 635 N. Fourth St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Saturday morning, Jan. 5, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
The Rev. Bruce W. Hanstedt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Eisner was born March 16, 1893, at Sheboygan, son of the late August and
Bertha Klein Eisner. He was educated in Sheboygan Public Schools and married
Elsie Meyer Feb. 14. 1914, at Sheboygan. He served as a carpenter
aprrentice (sic) for the Week's Construction Company of Sheboygan and during
World War I he worked on the Government Housing Project in Manitowoc. Following
the war he worked for the local Smith Architectural Firm and then became a
draftsman for the Wiese Laboratory Firm. At the age of 28 he started his own
construction company in 1925 which he continued for 50 years. During this time
Mr. Eisner built and supervised the completion of many of Manitowoc's finest
homes and also established some of the Manitowoc subdivisions in the city. Mr.
Eisner served as president of the R.A. Eisner Realty Company, retiring about
1970. He was active in the Manitowoc Senior Citizens Organization. Last February
Mr. and Mrs. Eisner had the honor of celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include (sic) He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 65 F and AM since
1922 and a member of First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Valeria
Eisner and William and Alice Eisner of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Esther Weihausen
of West Allis, five grandchildren (private) and five great grandchildren. A
daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Elsie) Novy, preceded him in death in 1966.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home 4 o'clock to 0 o'clock this Monday
afternoon and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
