Robert J. Engelbrecht, age 61, of N3305 CTH M, West Salem, Wis., died Wednesday,
May 3, 2000, at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (TODAY) May 5, 2000, at the
Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David
Scherbarth, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born July 9, 1938, in Manitowoc, son of the late Milton and Dolores
Griesbach Engelbrecht. Robert was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School
with the class of 1956. He served in the United States Army. Robert grew up in
Manitowoc, and in 1959, moved to LaCrosse wnd worked as a field engineer for IBM,
retiring in 1986. After retirement, Robert owned and operated the Nordic Lanes
Bowling Alley, in Wesby, Wis. He was a member of the Wisconsin Golf Association,
American Bowling Congress, and an inductee of the National Bowling Hall of Fame.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Wendy Engelbrecht, Fort
Atkinson,Wis., Ryan and Jill Engelbrecht, Plainfield, Ill.; four grandchildren,
Lauren, Haley, Gavin, and Chase; his ex-wife, Judy Engelbrecht, LaCrosse; four
brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Engelbrecht, and Judy Leiker, Manitowoc, Jim
and Barbara Engelbrecht, Two Rivers, Gary and Lacy Enneking Engelbrecht, Tucson,
Ariz., Dennis and Gay Engelbrecht, Raleigh/Durham , N.C.; three sisters and two
brothers-in-law, JoAnn Gulseth and Wayne Bohne, Manitowoc, Shirley and Paul Lemke,
Two Rivers, Sharon Koch, Tucson, Ariz. Nieces, nephews, their relatives and friends
also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Michael Al. Koch.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Bob enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, hunting, cards and investing. He was greatly
loved by his family, friends and liked by everyone he met.
